Barred Muscovy babies

Only sex-linked in Muscovies?

Yes, in mallard derived ducks, it's not, it's just a regular recessive :) Females can carry it, from what I understand.

Edit: Nope, I take it back. I had read once that females can carry it, but that appears to have been wrong. Upon further research it is indeed sex linked in mallard derived ducks too.

A lot of great interesting information! Thank you all so much! I think I will start selling my barred and chocolates for a couple of dollars more than the otherts.

The crazy thing is, all 4 of my females and my one male are all black and white pied.

It is crazy, right? That's how I started, nothing but black and whites, but one day I got chocolates and barreds.

The drake is carrying chocolate, and the drake and at least one hen are carrying barred :) It's lots of fun to see what can pop out with recessive genes.

More interesting info - since you don't have any female chocolates, all your chocolate babies are female.
