you need a rooster to umm...Be friendly with her

to fertilize and hatch eggs. A gen will hatch and mother any eggs if she is broody and determined. Some will not do it, some will sit on them for a while and give up and some will go the whole 21+ days. Depends on her stamina and determination. You can try fake eggs but she will stop laying for a while while she is trying to hatch, but not sure how that all works. Maybe after she's gotten the amount of eggs she wants to hatch? I guess the neighbors friends son named the rooster Torchick...Must be some video game characters​ name. My girls think it's strange...As do I!!!

This is April she's the one that loves to sit on her eggs but we know they won't hatch cause she's not fertile

But yeah Miss Kellogg would sit on her eggs but then would get up and be out during the day with Mr Kellogg and go back to them at night so I guess they got cold or something.. but April just sits on her eggs alll day and doesnt get up unless she's hungry or needs to go

But heyy soo I was talking to my friend about Torchick cause I thought it was kinda a weird name too and I found out that it's supposedly a Pokemon character... I guess it's a chicken or something' but yeah lol but yeahh miss Kellogg is just waiting for a friend to roam the yard so whenever he is ready let me know please I keep telling her every morning before I leave for work/school that I'll bring you a friend' lol

Yeahh, we thought she was too but when we got her they said she was and would lay a egg everyday but since Mr Kellogg left she stoped laying we don't know why
