Upon taking another look at the gel. It isn't going to help with infection (cloudy eyes) but should provide some relief. Since it isn't an antibiotic, you won't get those benefits. It is still useful to reducing discomfort but will not restore the eye to normal. You can use vetericyn antimicrobial eye gel for pets or Plain Neosporin/triple antibiotic ointment is another option that may help better since it is an antibiotic ointment. I would personally opt for the second but either will work.
If it doesn't help, chickens are super adaptable to being blind in one eye. I've got a hen who is blind in one eye and she is doing great.
