How early can you tell the gender?
Does anybody has some pic in different ages?
I have some Peeps which should be Bared Rocks and I'm not realy sure..........
@ first the babies, got them a week ago they should be BR and BCM

This I got 2 weeks ago

Any idea what this chick is? Breed / gender?

This 2 Ameracauner...........I know that the in the back is a roo and the blue one?

This link is good for Barred Rocks, Cuckoo Marans and Dominiques and has very good photos


Here is a good photo to show differences between male (lighter) and female (darker) Barred Rocks--these were 6 weeks old at the time.

So, according to the link, beak color is also an indicator?
I'd never heard that before...
Anyone else find this to be a useful indicator?

the BR that you got two weeks ago that is older than your other chicks looks like a roo, the black chick with the head tuft looks like a mixed breed pullet, the blue americauna also looks like a pullet to me. Cute birds!

the one with the head tuft looks like a discolored golden laced polish. Maybe?
