Barred Rock chick - boy or girl?

Definitely not a barred rock. I'm undecided on sex.

Not officially i'd say. They are all breed names.

That's what I was thinking. I noticed the lacing as well.

I have a barred rock, pullet I believe....let my grab a pic....

She was hatched April 27th. So she's close to your chick's age. She's supposed to be a purebred barred rock.

In the pics yours doesn't show the definite barred pattern. But she's gonna be pretty! I'm interested to see what she looks like.

Your baby chick is very pretty. Yours definitely has better definition of barring in her feathers. I'd love to see pics of your chick in a few weeks

Thank you! She's a tough girl. I killed the hatch with low incubating temps. She's the only one who made it out of 30 eggs. I'm new to barred rocks. I have a barred rock rooster...I'm glad he'll have female...lol.

I thought I had a barred rock rooster two years ago, but I believe he's a cuckoo maran.
Here's a pic of the two roosters. The Marans is not likely a purebred or correct in color etc...but he has the light/white legs with black spots. The Barred Rock has yellow.

Your girl's color and pattern makes my think Egyptian Fayomi or Campine maybe?

I think the Egyptian faiyumi and the Campine are good options for the mix for my barred rock.
