Barred Rock chicks

Do barred Rock chicks always have a white spot on their head? We purchased 4 hoping for them to be pullets but I know they are still young. I realized none of them have white spot on their head. Is this normal? Or are they a different breed.

I wouldn't go as far as to say always, though I think mostly. Sometimes there are different phenotype or anomalies, but all of them wouldn't make sense to me. I'm no expert but it doesn't look like barred Rock chick to me, I can't remember how soon I was able to see barring.. but the legs and face just seem too dark to me.. maybe Australorp??

Where from? Sexed or straight run?

Looks only a few day old and loving the outdoors!

From google, looks same age already showing barring on wings and see the difference in legs/face/beak color..

ETA: after looking at them posted together I notice the skin around the eye is not even the same color.

I was thinking Australorp, but I don't think they are pure Australorp.

Thank you, yes I'm enjoying BYC, so much great information! And the community is amazing. After doing some research I wonder if they are a Black sex link? I was looking at the Australorp chick and they seem have more yellow from the images I found. At the end of the day as long as they turn out all female, my husband and I will be happy
