Barred rock gender?

I think barred rocks are sexable and in that case both might be males.
They are sexable to someone with a keen eye and familiarity with the line you have. Females are single barred (more dark between the barring) and the males are double barred (more white in the barring). In some lines it can be hard to know unless you have a large sample and can see them side by side.

I'd say female. A pure barred rock male would be double barred and have more white in his barring. Their combs are also rather small and pale. Did you buy them as sexed pullets or buy them from a farmer?
I bought them as sexed pullets from TSC, but then was told they’re roos because of the size of the white on their heads. I’m with you, though - as they get older I’m feeling more confident they’re pullets. Will post pics again in about a week!
