Barred rock gender

got a straight run of barred rock chicks about a month ago...these guys are 5-6 weeks old

These two I am pretty sure are Roos. The one in the backs comb is twice as big as the one in the front though.

The pictures aren't that great..they were taken with my iPhone and the buggers would not stay still of course but any wisdom you can lay on me will be appreciated

The way to tell with barred rocks is to look at the fronts of their feet. Gray=female, mostly yellow=male. also, males will be alighter colouring,--grayish, as opposed tot the females barring being a darker black colour. When they still have fuzz on them, you can also tel by the white dot on their head, but at this age, the distinguishers I just gave you should help. Have fun! I love my barred rocks.

I'm sorry to say, but they all kinda look like boys to me. From what I have read boys are lighter than girls. Girls are really dark. Also the combs. My BR girl didn't have that kind of comb when she was young like that. I hope i am wrong.

All males wouldn't be so bad, they are very tasty

they all seem to be the same color, none brighter or darker than the other but there is just that one with a nice, big, red comb, so I thought the rest might be ladies

Learn how to tell males from females as chicks and you won't get fooled again. Sorry this sounded kinda harsh, didn't mean for it to. I got a bunch of BR's in the brooder and there is a web page to help figure them out.

I got some straight Run Barred Plymoth Rock Chicks about 2 months ago. I was able to tell them apart by the comb and feather color. My roos are more white then the girls and their combs were a lot bigger at the age of your chicks and started to get the red color sooner.
But from what I can see in the pictures most of them are boys.
