So much great info and advice! Thanks ya'll! I'm probably going to do the wire crate method, starting on Friday. We have a 2-hour commute round trip during the work week and I just can't make it happen any sooner. I appreciate the thought of introducing the chicks to her after dark, but I am away from home 10-1/2 hours during the day and I just couldn't handle the anxiety, worried if Lacey could step up to the plate and be a good mama.

I've done the baby chick thing this year. It worked. But also, if she does not accept the chicks, you may have to get her some hatching eggs.
