This am my br hen had one wing drooping. I took her out of the run and places her in a large container with food and water. ( She's 9wks), by 4 she was losing her balance and literally somersaulted and hasn't been able to stand. We've been giving her water with a syringe and feed her some egg and tuna. She barely takes any food. I have four hens total. She is my only barred Rock. She was fine up until last night. No blood stool, normal eating and drinking, normal interactions. They have a run for the daytime and a fully enclosed roost at night. They do not free range. I would love some input or advise. This is my first flock.

I have read some about Merrick's, but I haven't been able to find out if it progresses that rapidly.

Thanks

Could you post a picture of her, please? You said no blood in her poo, but is it still runny like diarrhea? Good idea to give her egg or tuna. Try giving her vitamins through water, if she refuses food.

I'm sorry to hear about your pullet.
Can you post some photos of her and her poop?

Somersaulting sounds neurological. She is the right age for symptoms of Marek's to start showing up. Without testing, there is no way to know for sure.
I would try treating symptoms - give her 400IU Vitamin E along with 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. Egg is a good source of selenium so I would offer that daily as well in addition to her chick starter. Do what you can to keep her eating/drinking.
Here's some reading about Marek's

Than u very much. I will try that asap. There really isn't any poop to take a pick of in the box. I don't think she's popped at all in the box.

What are you feeding them?
Mostly fresh fruit and veg, some proteins, occasionally cheese and they get yougart once a week. I also feed her chick starter but she gets into the bigger chicken food as well.

I don't know anything about Marek's or chicken diseases, but it's very important that your chick get a balanced diet. You should cut out all snacks and give her nothing but the chick starter for now, especially if she is not getting any chick grit. Without grit she cannot digest these other foods.

She's not pooping? Is her vent swollen or packed up with poop?
I would work on getting her hydrated the best you can, then see if she will eat a little for you.
Check her crop and tell us if it's full, empty, soft/hard, airy, fluid fill, doughy, sour smelling etc.
Re-check it first thing in the morning before she eats/drinks - it should be empty then.

Does she have chick grit available? Diet could be your problem. Growing chicks need to be eating chick starter. Veggies/fruit are fine treats but their main source of nutrition should be starter unless they free range most of the time. Eliminate the cheese.
You mention her eating the bigger chicken feed, I assume that's layer feed? How much layer feed do you think she eats daily and for how long?

Sometimes it's better to feed an all flock/flock raiser feed if you have different age groups. This provides balanced nutrition, plenty of protein for all ages and has less calcium (excess calcium can damage chick's kidneys).
