I read an article that was vague but said something along the lines of typically roosters start growing combs and wattle as young as 4 to 6 weeks (I believe) meaning they get larger and pinkin or are red. and hens can start at 6 weeks (but typically happens at 12 to 14 weeks I believe) with light pink to reddish. So I guess my question is when did you notice they were turning red. Granted I know that isnt the most reliable way but it's what we have to work with as they haven't grown saddle feathers yet
If you want a definite answer you have roughly 4 more weeks to wait. By 12 weeks they should have pointy saddle and kackle feather.I don't remember when they started to show/turn red.
