Barred Rock pullet or cockerel??

That's going to be a cockerel based on the barring. Not everyone is going to agree you can tell that young but when I had barred rocks the cockerels got clear straight stripes soon as their wing feathers came in and the pullets were more white scattered dots. You can check back in a couple weeks when a pink comb should start to develop.

That has been our concern. He/she acts bolder than our other three chicks, stands up much straighter than the others (note: all four are different breeds though), and is a little bossy. Appreciate your input!!

When does the comb usually develop? S/he is about five weeks now and there is a bit of comb growth with a little pink.

Not sure about the comb development but the reason we are saying cockerel is because of his barring. Pullets have wider black bars and cockerels have wider white bars.

I dont think that's a full barred rock but based on the comb that's a boy
