Barred Rock Roo ?

I have a hunch that I have a barred rock rooster in still learning how to tell can I get some opinions ? When googling images I see that the roosters have larger combs and waddles that are much brighter in color.

That is a pullet/hen.

Looks like a Pullet to me, I don't see sickle or hackle feathering.
I could be wrong if someone with more experience with this breed can chime in, but both of my BR's had huge combs.

Looks like a pullet. Im guessing its over 15 weeks old and getting ready to lay thats why her comb and wattles are bright red

I'm new to genetics and still learning so excuse me if I get some terminology wrong, and feel free to correct me.


Roosters have 2 copies of the barring gene (sex linked) where hens have only 1. This causes the rooster to appear lighter or whiter than the hen and sexable.
