Well, it's been a few weeks so I thought I would post a couple more pics. Here is our barred rock. Does he still look like a roo? He doesn't act like one. He is about 7-8 weeks old now. No crowing and very, very sweet, even with the JG roo I know I have. He does crow, the JG I mean:)
Thanks.

We just love this one. My husband picks it up all the time and she doesn't even try to get away. She is more like a pet

Thanks so much. When she was younger she was thought to be a roo

You all don't see those skinny iridescent feathers in the hackles? That is a BR cockerel, folks. The color, the hackles, the comb, all scream Barred Rock ROO. Trust me. Have had quite a few of those come through here over the last few years. Big boy. 100% certain.

Definitely a boy! A comb like that on a 7-8wk old bird definitely says rooster, let alone the hackles and overall coloring.

Oh well, thanks everybody. I just hope he stays sweet. We really like him
