Barred rock rooster mix?

I bought a barred rock cockerel and 3 barred rock pullets from a smaller private hatchery back around July 4th. They were hatched in early May so they are around 6 months old now. The barred rock cockerel looks alot different than my friend Stans barred rock rooster. Is it possible hes a mix? He has some red feathers on his wings and a lot of white feathers too. What do you guys think I posted some pics below?

Doesn't look like a mix to me. I've noticed some BR roos have more white than black.
