That is what I am thinking will happen. Because there are two hens and three pullets I think it will take some adjusting. For the hens and pullets and then for all the girls and the rooster.
I had all the girls together and one of the two hens would attack the pullets every time they stood up. After two days I pulled the pullets and put them in a pen by themselves. They can't catch up in age with the hens, but they can and are catching up in size. I hope that makes a difference. Then the pecking hen just might have to stay by herself a little longer when it is time to intergrate with the rooster. All I can think of when I look at her is she just 'ain't right'. So, maybe never for her.
But, this roo really seems like a good one. He does some serious talking to me when I come around the corner of the house. Not agressive at all. Just hope he is man enough to stand up to the new girls when the time comes. The new pen has plenty of places for them to get away from each other and that will help.
