Barred Rock very sick, please help!

We have done that before! Was wondering if this sounds like a crop issue? Impaction or sour crop? I'm a little hesitant to try the methods to fix that because last time I had sick hens I misdiagnosed them with crop issues and ended up making them more miserable...

Only you can make the decision on when the time is appropriate. I'm sorry you are at that point.:hugs
Consider having her necropsied, or doing an informal one yourself to try to find out what happened for sure. It can bring peace of mind and/or provide useful information for you going forward.
That could also give all of us more important information, maybe even help save birds in the future.:hugs

It's very hard to say. Most of my crop issues have been caused by reproductive problems which have slowed or stopped the digestion. Sadly reproductive problems are not uncommon. Parasites can cause similar symptoms sometimes. It's basically trying to rule things in and out to narrow it down, unless vet care is an option where imaging can sometimes help identify the problem. There are mail in options for fecal testing if you don't have a vet that will do it for you.

She did okay for the rest of the day, drank some electrolyte water. I didn't see this before nighttime, but we made sure she had lots of fluff around her in her coop. She did not eat yesterday as far as I can tell, and I forgot to check her crop this morning, but I will do it as soon as I can!

Unfortunately, we decided that the time had come to dispatch her, and soon she will be sent off in the mail. Thanks to all who did their best to lend a helping hand!
