True, they are already as bad as they can possibly get.
What about between hatchery BRs and hatchery orps? What if they were the only two types of chicken left on the planet? Would you never get chickens again? What if you had to chose one?
If they were the only chickens left on earth then humanity has failed. I would probably take Orps, and breed them to actually be fluffy like a cochin then try and give them feathered feet with some sciency thing. Then the world would be saved because Orps would be wiped out and be more like cochins.

I saw exactly two words in that post: take, and orps. Right next to each other. As in you would choose Orps over BRs. And in my mind, that's a victory, at least on this thread!
