Cleo, my head girl, a five-year-old Plymouth Barred Rock, was in the nest box way too long this afternoon. I went to check on her and there were small white squirmy things around her vent, which is red and inflamed looking. I feel completely horrible that I hadn't noticed before today.
They're less than a quarter inch long, white, pointy on both ends, and about as thick as a...hmm. Thicker than a hair, but less thick than a strand of yarn. Maybe a strand of cord? I looked up treatments, washed her off thoroughly, put antibiotic cream and poultry wound wash on her. Then I searched on here, bought Safeguard and dosed her 9 ml, since she's about 4.5 lbs.
She's still perky, and eating and drinking. Haven't seen her poop. Have I mentioned I feel terrible? Is there anything else I can/should do? Help please!

Flushing the wound to remove all the maggots out is most important. Don't beat yourself up, this time of year with the hot weather, the flies are terrible, Flystrike can happen very quickly - maggots can hatch out in less than 24hrs.
