I have 12 chickens right now. 10 are 4 weeks old and two are 3 weeks. 5 of them are barred rocks and they seem the easiest to determine sex earlier on (the others are an EE mix and buff orpingtons). What am I looking for the most to determine how many roosters I have? Other threads seem to show that coloring isn’t always a determining factor. All of mine have dark wash on legs. A few with bigger combs than others but just wondering what is the biggest indicator. No one has wattles yet. I posted two pictures of two, one I’m pretty sure is a roo (gives me sketchy eyes and has a big comb) another with similar coloring but much nicer.
