New Chicks into Existing Flock

We have 12 new 8 week old chicks being introduced to our 6 month old existing flock of (1 rooster, 5 hens). We moved them into the coop brooder for one week then let them into the flock, they are treated nicely but they tend to stay far from the other chickens, will this eventually end and they all be together? Any tips for helping this along?

That's normal and likely safer for them as well. They will continue to stay in their own subgroup until they're close to point of lay.
