I'm thinking about buying a pullet off of a local lady with BRs (hatchery quality). Based on the techniques I've seen for sexing I think all 4 are cockerels - the head spots are ill-defined, their color is light, their combs are large and the legs I can see have very little splash. Thoughts?

Generally cockerels do feather in slower than pullets. But I've had slow feathering pullets too, so it's not always the case. Yours however, can be sexed on coloring. Notice the wing coloring on the 2 on the outside - more white than black. That means cockerel. The 2 on the inside have more black than white. That means pullet.
