Hi everyone! I am new to the group here! I FINALLY got some Heritage Barred Rock eggs! This is my first batch of 5 chicks (thanks again TigerCreek

). I was wondering if you could help me sex them. They are right around 4 weeks old and I am nervous that these are all boys. I have a few more eggs due to hatch in the next few days, plus just won a lovely auction, so will hopefully have more soon, but with my luck they will ALL be boys LOL!

Don't worry yet..it's harder to tell with the heritage breeds from my experience and from what I have read.

I am pretty sure I saw at least a couple of pullets.

In the first picture, the chick on the bottom left that is closest to the camera is a pullet for sure.

I would bet that I saw at least 2 pullets - look for the ones that feather earliest, especially the tail. Glad you got a mix!! ..stan

Well I have 6 awesome little GSBR girls(now about 10/12 weeks old) I got from Matt1616 about 6 wks ago. They are doing good and no I don't have pics of my big boys but I have 3 nice big boys (9mo.) but unfortunately they are lacking somewhat in the tail area too seems to me there's another project in the making there, huh?
