Barred Rocks rooster mauled by raccoon

He's inside. Thank you for the Veterycin suggestion. Another concern is keeping the wound soft as it heals. Here's a pic of most of the large wound.
My favorite is good ole Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment for those types of wounds.it will keep the tissue soft..keep with soreness, infection. Do not use peroxide..it can " Burn" delicate tissue. Best thing is to flushing with saline or other disinfectant spray if u need to clean it then put Neosporin on it

I would liberally apply Blu-Kote to the wound site. I use the spray version available at TSC. See link below.

Be watching for fly strike. Make certain you are not setting up for a repeat attack. Day time attack not typical for raccoon. Is it possible a dog had a hand in that?

UPDATE #1 G'morning and thank you for all your suggestions. I truly appreciate your thoughts.
So, our boy had a bit of a rough day yesterday. I rinsed the wounds with a warm epsom salt solution and soaked the little dried on feathers. I trimmed all feathers that were near the wound sites, then liberally applied a triple antibiotic ointment. This process was done with soft words, gentle clucks and soothing song. I put boy back into his indoor quarantine bin to rest. I was washing dishes an hour or so later and saw him pecking at his wounds. Having none of that, I chose to cover the wound. I applied 4 non-stick bandage pads coated in antibiotic ointment to cover the wounds. I wrapped gauze around his body to hold the bandage pads in place, then put a chicken apron on to keep him from trying to take the bandages off. He seems to be doing reasonably well for now. I'll change his bandages daily until the wounds aren't so raw. And, don't worry, I'll give the wounds time to breathe before I reapply. I'm also bringing in one of his hens for encouragement and morale. That's all for now. I thank you all again.
