Here are three of my Barred Rocks. Well, maybe. I got some eggs from a friend and I haven't seen his flock, so I'm going off what he told me he has. He says he has BR hens, Americuana hens, a RIR rooster, and a Buff Orpington rooster. Is it Possible to get chickens that look like only BR from this mix. I have a suspicion that he may have a BR rooster as well. The first three are my BR boys, or at least I'm pretty sure they are, even though they may be a bit dark for cockerels. And the last is what I believe is an Americuana x BR. You can just barely see the barred pattern, which may make sense if my friend has a BR rooster. they are all 3 months old. All hatched within a day or two from each other. The three BR were from light brown eggs and the grey one is from a blue egg. What do ya'll think?

Well I talked to my friend again, who I got the eggs from. He does not have a BR rooster. Only us a Buff Orpington and a RIR rooster. His hens are Americuanas and Barred Rock. So the barred boys above would be Black Sex Link I’m guessing and the gray one is just an EE at this point with some cool coloring left overs from somewhere. His “Americuana” may just be EE. Came from Atwood’s, but they do lay nice blue eggs.
