Barred Rocks!!

The lady we bought our BR rooster from musta been frustrated, hatched 25 and only got 10 pullets. I bought mine at 2 months old and a couple days later we thought he was chocking on something the funny sound he was making, at first he crowed real low wasn't a bother but now he's mature he seems to want to crow loud between 6 am and 6 pm then finally settles down.

Note they are free ranged and he is an awesome flock protector so we put up with it as this is his job.

Ohh ok. How about the pullets, if you look at the other pictures that posted, this is most definite a pullet. I've been lurking for a month or so since I got them and have been reading all I could. My husband knows more about chickens than I do, and he kinda sexed ours to his best he knew. Would you like for me to take some close-ups and post tomorrow, so you can see them better? I wonder why two of them have white feet? I'm on page 38 reading all I can and have enjoyed all the post and pictures very much!

The ones with the white feet are your Cuckoo Marans.

OK, I'm going to start by saying my BR Lola is by far one of my favorite hens. I do most of my breeding at home and Lola hatched out a BR a couple months ago that had these out standing yellow legs! It was a bit lighter and of course it ended up being a rooster. I ordered some eggs to incubate this time and this is Dot. I did read a little bit about the white marks on their head and leg coloring maybe you guys can help me out with this little button of a chick.

thank you in advance! As I can remember my rooster like I said earlier his legs were very yellow. However, Lola my BR that is full grown had a smaller white dot on the top of her head then the baby chick I have so if anybody knows the gender on this or thinks I would love some opinions. I really hope it is a pullet as I love the personality of Lola !

Female br are dark in color like this lady right? She's about 24 weeks. I caught her the other day mounting another pullet. A least that's what it looked like. I thought she was laying eggs. I have 2 in a flock of 8 mixed. I can see about a week difference in the maturing of the 2. Sorry it's not the best photo... my girls are camera shy. She is a she right?

Thick black bars and rounded saddle feathers. It's a girl.
