Barred Silkie?

@NatJ I messaged the lady that I got them from. She said that there is a possibility that a couple eggs were fertilized by a Porcelian D'uccle rooster. That seems to fit, both of the smooth feathered chicks have big beards and one has a single comb.

It is pretty frustrating though because she told me that the Silkies live completely seperate from all other chickens. A D'uccle was never mentioned. I was wanting to buy some Silkies for a future breeding flock. 3/5 of the chicks are clearly full Silkies.

Thank you for updating!

Yes, that does solve the mystery, but is definitely disappointing for your project. At least with the silkie vs. normal feathering, you can tell which chicks are mixes and which are not.

Exactly, I am happy it was easy to tell. My plan now is to raise them up to either keep them in my main flock or sell them together when they are older.

The 3 that are silkies are cute lil Buff Paint silkies.
