Barrel Brooder

Came across this YouTube video, and thought this would be a fantastic brooder set up for baby chicks. They can easily go into the heat barrel or stay out. These would fit easily into the corner of many of the large coops we have!

Not a bad idea if you have a larger group of chicks and a large enough area to put this in.

Heating pad is a lot less work to assemble, but is limited in how many chicks it can realistically handle.

Agreed that a heat pad is much easier!
