Barring genetics

Actually there are three known barring allele(but there could be more)

B0= Sex linked Extreme Dilution(B^Sed) found on production type white leghorns
B1= Sex linked Barring(B) found on barred rocks
B2 = Sex linked Dilution(B^Sd) also found on white leghorns

That’s why I said two versions that “produce barring.” From my understanding, the third is linked to barring but has an unknown affect, or isn’t easily visible to the eye 🤷🏻‍♀️ this is a bit behind my scope.

That’s a pea comb, so the Brahma and the mixed breed must be the parents. I’m guessing the mixed roo is has one dominant white gene and one black/barred gene, so he was able to pass on barring to the chick.
I had thought it looked like a straight comb up until today when I looked closer. It looks exactly like a pea comb. The chick is also enormous compared to the other chicks which I thought was related to the Brahma being the mom (could also be because it’s male but I don’t know yet if that’s the case). I’d been feeling very strongly that the other rooster had not been even attempting to mate at that point in time, and it was extremely unlikely white roo was the dad.
