Are you saying that if the mother was barred Rock then the chick has to have barring?

Just because it doesn’t have barring doesn’t mean the barred Rock wasn't the mother.

I’m not sure if you knew this, I thought you did, but from your most recent reply it seems like otherwise.

I was saying if it was barred than I would know who is momma, otherwise have no clue who is momma.

you have this part backwards. Hens can only pass barring on to male offspring

Right and my hen is the barred I look for barings in all babies that I hatch trying to figure out the males. No barred rock roo. Got rid of mine too mean

A year ago. I have 1 ee/rir mix and then the mystery male in first post

Mystery make looks like blue copper marans possibly mixed with golden kadaknath which would explain the black skin

It's also called a Kali Masi, but usually kadaknath. It's a black skinned chicken in India similar to the Indonesian Ayam Cemani but with more color variants

Some of the coloring does look alot like them and the huge comb. Not sure how to decide which black skinned chicken it is XD. I only knew of 2 kinds until recently the silkie and Ayam cemani

Svarthona is a good match as well looking at body shape and comb style
