Barter chickens??

Went to the pet supplies shop and turns out they sell chickens. When I asked what breed they were they said barter chickens. I've never heard of that breed. Is there any such breed and what are they like? Thanks

I am going on a hunch here. The sales person may have meant banty or bantam chickens. This is a smaller variety of various breeds of chicken. Just a hunch -could be wrong!
