Baseball People: Help Me with this Gift!!

No, NO knock offs! I want the real thing no ifs ands or buts. I just wasn't sure if it was supposed to have the name. Deb, can you look at the link http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3786025&cp=1452345.1452681.707971 and tell me what you think? It doesn't say if it's embroidered or screen printed, but if it's "authentic" it should be embroidered, right? If I order by midnight, I get 25% off, so I'm trying to decide fast. Does this look like the real thing, is this want I want? Help!

Also, what about the size?!?! (See my post above)

Be careful about buying jerseys and stuff with names on them. Jayson Werth was always my favorite Phillies player, and this year for Christmas I wanted a Phillies Jersey with his name on the back. Until my dad told me that he was playing for the Washington Nationals fo the next 7 years.

My DH says that those are the real thing on your post above and it didnt appear that that team had its names on them. He also said that a 48 would be "pretty big." I was amazed at how much they are! Terri O

I warned her!!!

Can anyone give me an idea of what men they know and their body and shirt sizes? Like I said, I thought the jersey he was wearing the other day seemed way too big, so maybe he likes them that way, but I don't want it to look like a dress on him either. I'd like it to be wearable.

Terri O, thanks for checking with your DH, I appreciate it.

I have NO concept of how big a 48 is.

He says it is an XL. He thinks as a person 5'11" and 170 he would be a 42 or 44. But he also says you wear them hanging out and big is OK. My son is 6'3" and rail thin and I get him a large or a medium depending on how long the shirt is. HTH--T

sounds like he'd be a size large or 44 and that would probably be a little loose on him... based on your description. I may be wrong but I think the Red Sox home jerseys don't have the name on them, their road jerseys do though.

Okay, everyone thanks for the help. I just called customer service and talked to a great guy who was very helpful. He happens to be about the same height and weight and said he would choose a 44, and that a 48 would be a bit big for his taste, but that some guys like them looser. He also said if it's too big we can exchange it after Christmas when the smaller size comes back in stock. So I ordered it. It was $175.00 but they had a promotion for 25% off so the whole thing came to about $135 including shipping. This will be a great surprise. He mentioned it so casually that it wasn't a hint, so I know he'll never see this coming. I'm so excited, it will be worth every penny to see the look of shock on his face (he's been asking for one for years but no one ever got him one).

Anyway, thanks again for the input guys!
