bathing chickens with Johnson's

Hello friends.I just want to check, if this is ok to bathe my chickens in? First time using a baby bath to bathe my girls. I will greatly appreciate any advice and comments.and also will this also be good for my white silkies? I want them to be white But they seem like a little offwhite cream colour.

I don't know where you are to recommend a brand, I use an oatmeal one on my dogs, but most vet shops pet stores etc would have animal washes, an "organic" baby wash would probably be ok too just check the ingredients for fragrances etc, you can get whitening shampoos that they use on show animals but I don't know how it would go on a bird.

OK, but why? Not fair to make an authoritative comment like that without at least telling us if it's because you know of something harmful with it, or it being just a personal preference.

I used this product this summer with no noticeable side effects (Except cranky chickens)

I said that's just me, I didn't say don't use it I said I wouldn't. Maybe that means something different to you but it doesn't sound authoritive to me?

Since you asked, one of the reasons I don't like j&j is they test on animals which I am personally against.
Another is that they have used known carcinogens in their products, they have used mineral oils which are derived from petroleum and bad for us. The research is there to find, from both sides, I choose to boycott in favour of natural earth friendly out of personal preference even if one day they do bring their products up to standard and stop testing on animals

Clean water. Then let her sunbathe. Chickens like to sunbath or dirt bath; important for them to have a dirty tray where they can bath
