When do people bathe their ducklings how soon, warm water I presume?

I let mine "swim" the day I got them. I put them in warm water (think cool bath). I only made the water about an inch deep, and I only let them play in it for about 10 minutes. Then I dried them off thoroughly and put them into a nice, warm brooder. As they got older, I increased the time until they were fully feathered.
