Bathing hens

I did, from what I could see the skin was nice and pink, I couldn't spot any mites or such around the vent.
I didn't get to check under the wings, but I will next time.
Good Job! I think they go for the vent first...but checking under wings and around head and neck is a good thing to do.

You do know that now that she knows she's going to get grapes she's going to get dirty on purpose. :)

Indeed!
Grapes are their favorite treat, even more than mealworms.

They like them so much that the last hen in the pecking order, who normally has to wait her turn to eat and is very submissive to the others, when I feed them grapes will literally steal grapes from the other ladies' beaks, run away to eat the stolen morsel then rush back to steal more.. and she's so fast that the other hens complain loudly but don't bother chasing her.

OK, I'm brand new to chickens and would not have a chicken if this hen had not started sleeping on my patio table. Her flock kicked her out (I'm assuming) they still show up several times a week to harass her, especially the rooster.

I have tons of questions, which I search the forums for, and will post in the appropriate place, but this girl has a crazy poopy butt!

So, I'm glad I found this thread because now I'll know what to do!

She didn't take long to warm up to me, letting me pet her, hand feed, and she even let me pick her up about six times so far. Mostly to put her in her new coop. I only got clawed once and she didn't break the skin. Twice she was able to fly out of my arms into the coop, but getting smacked in the face with powerful, clumsy wings doesn't feel super great either! Ha :D

I really love this chicken! I never thought I would say that in regard to a bird that wasn't on my dinner plate.
This is my beautiful Mrs. Mcnugget a.k.a Mrs. Dingleberry Poopy Britches
