I have recently acquired year old hens. They are very stinky and the vent area is covered in poop. What can I do?

The best thing you can do is clean there vents, the smell part im not sure. If they haave dirt they should be dust bathing in the dirt.

I have one pullet that I have had to bathe several times because she always seems to get poop stuck in her feathers. There are some great videos on youtube on how to bathe a chicken. I do mine in the kitchen sink and make sure they are 100% dry (hairdryer) before I bring her outside because I'm sure that going out in the cold weather with damp feathers would be a very bad idea.

I bathe my chickens all the time. They're really good in the bathtub and seem to like the warm water.
