Our 16 year old cat gets to stinking pretty bad. I normally do not smell him until he lays against my face in the mornings.

How often should we bath him?

He gets washed in the sink with cats only shampoo. He doesn't fight like he used to and seems to enjoy the warm water.

Usually about once a week should do in an older cat who has lost the ability to groom itself. Although I would investigate why your cat is stinky. A mouth full of rotten teeth has a fetid odor, and the decay is painful to the cat-not to mention the bacteria running rampant and getting into the bloodstream. Other diseases can cause odor, too, and should be investigated.
