Bator finished (mostly) ~pics~

I'ts pine from lowes. It does't really well with temps. I need to add more water surface bc we only got humidity up to 41%. We only ran it for a day, but will start it back up tomorrow to get fine tuned for the eggs.

We still need to add the wire for the rack.

Your top may warp with humidity. We did make one like that and it worked well, but the top kept bending up with the humid conditions. You may also want to have a seal around the lid like a bicycle tube cut in half. We had to cut ours down in height because it took too long to stablize temps. Half height worked much better and an aluminum flashing shield in front of the bulb worked much better at keep temps from going all over the place and cooking the eggs nearest the bulb. We finally retrofitted an old dorm fridge that is so insulated that it holds temp and humidity much better and is easier to clean. Cleaning is a breeze!

Speckledhen I had wondered this and now seeing your pics it make me really wonder. I don't have a turner, but can I use the bottom half of a cardboard egg carton to put the eggs in?

It has 2 holes about 1 inch in diameter at the bottom. Plus we're going to put two more toward the top, just the drilled died and haven't gotten to it since the batteries were charged.
