Bator Therapy/Support Group...ANYONE!!

I told my hubby the same thing. When I told him I was nuts -- he calmly replied "But dear.....you can't go BEYOND nuts..."
somehow I find that comforting.
He was not so happy however when I woke him up to see embryos moving in the shell.... he's not sharing my addiction.

My DH doesn't share my addiction either...on any animals LOL but he tries to be understanding and helpful, at times. He made me move my bator out of our bedroom because I would get up so much during the night to check temps!

Oh, I know how it feels to be addicted.
The problem is, once I set an egg and it turns out to be fertile, I can't cull it. If I can see the embryo's little heart beat, that is it for me. I'm doomed from that moment on. I set one of my ringneck doves' eggs in the incubator two days ago to see if it was fertile, and it is. There's a beautiful little network of blood vessels and a little heartbeat. These are young, hand-raised doves that are too silly to build a nest or set on their own eggs. I don't know if I feel like hand-feeding a baby dove every 2 hours when I'll have goslings hatching just a few days after it hatches, but my saving grace is simply that doves grow really fast. So by the time I'm up to my ears in goslings, the dove will only need to be fed every 4 hours or so. Yep, that's my excuse.

The most terribly wonderful thing is that people are considering paying me to hatch eggs for them, now! Chickens, ducks, geese, the whole deal. Now what would be the best is if people would pay me to hatch and hand-raise big parrots for them. I've hand-fed tiny lovebirds and budgies, but I'm setting my sights on, you know... Macaws...

I think I'm a goner. I'm addicted for life.

So i to am hoplessly addicted to hatching and this is only my first hatch. I have 1 chickie out and 3 more eggs with pips. and then there are the other 20 eggs that are due to do something any minute now. then here i am sitting here contemplating where my next batch of eggs is going to come from or what kind of eggs i want to try out next. i am sick i tell ya. so here is my question how is everyone finding your egg prospects. i know of a few breeds i would like to do and want to know how to get my hands on some of the eggs.

If I could, I'd hatch everything under the sun.

So far, I'm going to see what I can do without instilling the wrath of a few unfortunate housemates.

I absolutely hate hatching! I wish you lived closer to me... I'd give you all my eggs... heck, I'd even pay you to hatch for me! lol. When they're out and about a week old then I enjoy it, but that first week and the actual hatching process aren't enjoyable for me.

Wish I could help you out MoodyChicken, I am totally into the incubating and can't wait for them to hatch.

Then, we will really know we are hatch-a-holics...when we have to check one anothers bators out!

Yesterday my DH looked at our online banking page and saw a payment thru paypal that he didn't make
cool.png
He comes in and was like "Is there something you want to tell me?" I said "No, why" He says "DId you buy more eggs?" ME??????
idunno.gif
IDK anything about any paypal payment??? THEN, my DD runs in holding a BCMs egg and says "MOMA YOUR EGGS CAME TODAY" I had them resting, hidden, in the laundry room.

BUSTED...The DD gave me up...Then the DH shakes his head walking off saying something how I could spoon money out the front door faster than he could shovel it in the back door....
