Battery Hen Thread!

That is what I'm worried about! My wife and I rehab unwanted hamsters (biters, dumped by their owners, medical problems), and we have to resist taking in every one that needs a home. I don't know how I'll cope see all the poor chookies and only taking three.
Aww what a nice thing to to! I have hamsters. I accidentally chopped one of their legs off. I felt so bad! I payed for surgery and he lived!

:( If you don't mind me asking, how did you chop one of their legs off?

You know then little plastic house things? Well I had him out then I put him back in and then checked to make sure none of his legs were sticking out the side. When I shut it he stuck one of his legs through, and well you can guess what happened next!

aww that is sad. I am glad he was alright! Once I had a guinea pig who's leg got smashed under a barrel. He was fine though, no broken bones or anything!

My nephew dropped out of cub scouts because the other kids were bullying him (where was the scout leader?) So, we're going to have him over one night a week to help us prepare the yard for the chookies. There is a lot of work to do still, and we're hoping building something from start to finish, taking care of animals and learning to use tools will give him a boost of confidence. You know, what was supposed to happen in scouts...
