Battling hens!

Oh my goodness, that looks perfect for a temporary separation cage! Brahma you are so generous. Are you sure you want to part with it so easily? I do have a pickup truck with a cap.
I really don’t mind. I’m not going to use it any time soon as I have a larger prefab set up for emergencies. Plus it’s just taking up space in my garage. It’s disassembled and I have the hardware and screws saved. I’ll print out the instructions for you.

I do agree that some birds don't fit, but why make soup out of 2 top tier hens and keep a weaker one?
For the reason that I bet you already know. The victim has been a family favorite. My husband in particular loves Henneth so much he would be willing to eat the bullys. And he has sworn to never eat any of our birds. Myself, I'm hoping to make a flock dynamic change with the help of a small prefab coop offered by @Brahma Chicken5000 . I'll be picking it up Thursday. Gonna put one bird in it in the run with visual of her blocked for awhile, then reintroduced. At that point if all goes well she will be allowed back in the flock and the second one will be put in the small coop in the same fashion with hopes for a similar outcome. Meanwhile the second one will remain in the dog cage coop.

Oh, and I ordered blinders.
I understand:)
I hope it all works out for you, keep us posted.

Yes, keep us posted. Im hoping it all works out in the end. I had a similar problem once, when I intro'd 2 bantams cochins. 2 of my hens were relentlessly after them. It took a looong time and suddenly, after a possum attack, they finally stopped picking on them. I don't know if the possum attack scared them so bad that they figured they had better things to worry about or what, but harmony was restored.

I had 3 SLW who were the Mean Girl Squad.
They pecked and chased everyone except the dominant girl, a red sex link.
One SLW, Penelope, was the lowest of the four when they were teenage pullets.
Eventually Penelope decided she wanted to be higher in the pecking order.
She bullied Coco and Pepper until she became 2nd under Red, the sex link.
Then she tried for Red’s spot at the top.
That was short and sweet because Red is not a bully but will not back down when challenged.
Penelope had to make do with being 2nd.
The Mean Girls continued harassing any birds I integrated.
Red, on the other hand, was great.
She never harassed the newcomers but she would fight if they challenged her and she always won.
But after that she was fine.
She’s not a bully.
I think she’s a great example of what a dominant hen should be.
So I finally got fed up with the Wyandottes because I had 13 chicks ordered and I didn’t want those chicks harassed or to act like them.
My friend had lost her SLW so I offered her my three.
Interestingly, they aren’t bullies at her house. She has a lot more birds and they’re older. She also has several mature roosters. They’re doing very well there.
And things have been a lot more calm at my place since they’ve been gone.
Some birds just don’t fit in the flock and always cause chaos but that doesn’t mean they can’t find a home where they do fit in.
I hope things get worked out for you in a way you feel good about.
