Most breeds do get along however adding to an established flock always causes some aggression. Not that you can never add birds but introductions need to go slowly from behind a fence or cage for a few weeks before mixing and expect squabbling for a few months while the flock sorts out the pecking order.

Hi, thanks for joining us! @sourland makes a good point about trying to add smaller breeds and crested birds to a flock, those can look too different to easily fit in with a flock of dual-purpose larger birds.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

Like @sourland said about crested and bantams, what I'd suggest is if you get any of those, get about 4-5 of them. Then they have numbers so a bit less likely to be challenged, plus, if they are, they can hang out together and not be singled out.

Also some breeds are more docile such as favorelles and may have troubles integrating into an existing flock. I would also caution again introducing fewer than 3 new birds.

I appreciate it. I just heard some breeds have aggressive tendencies. Things like that, is it bologna?

I have heard some people say that production reds (or hatchery Rhode Island Reds) can be aggressive, but I have never seen this in my flock and I've kept quite a few. I think it has more to to do with the personality of individual chickens than the breed, but both factors can probably be at play. I think the key is to give them enough space and a proper introduction.

Welcome. I believe that in the chicken world...size matters . My silkies grew up with my standards, but after about a year, I got tired of watching the silkies get chased all of the time and made them their own coop and run.
