Who is Cotton-tail?

It was fun meeting you too, your set up looked great!

Jumping back in here for a minute... I put my eggies on lockdown in the am!!! So exciting! Looks like six colorful eggs and eight BCMs made it to lockdown! Purity good for shipped! Saturday is the big hatch day! Wish us luck!!
I also am getting some cuckoo marans hens and a BCM and a mix marans roo this weekend! Ack! Lol. Good thing I sell eggs! I'll have some hatching ones too if anyone wants to play genetics with me!! the cross makes goldens apparently. We shall see!

OOps! Yes, Jeremy, trading for Splash Marans! (sorry--mometary lapse...!) I moved broody into new digs tonight as now two/ten eggs got squished keeping the other hens off, so she's in solitary (but not in isolation)! Have 8 eggs, hoping for two girls for me and ??? for you. I may keep one roo...
Hatch is first weekend in Feb.

Good luck, pnp4kidz!

The Splash Marans roo pictured on the auction looked very, very nice. If I had more room I would certainly ask you if I could keep one myself. Think about the endless Blue colored Olive Eggers you could create with him, too. Crossing any EE or Ameraucana with him would result in lots of different and pretty patterns of blue.

I honestly only need ("need") one... but you know how chicken math works!

Greetings, folks!

There was a craigslist ad today here in Sacramento with a link to the animal sanctuary place that is adopting out the roosters from that guy who was featured on Animal Hoarders earlier this month. This place has a number of rescued chickens and spent hens available for adoption, as well as the roosters from the Animal Planet program.

There is a link to the sanctuary in the craigslist ad. Thought maybe some folks here might be interested in looking into getting some of those birds.

Have a great day,

Jerrilynn, thanks so much for posting that. I can't have any roosters here, but hopefully someone will respond. I saw the posts about the animal sanctuary not getting any press at all despite taking all those roosters for free.

Well as it turns out I won't be able to make it to Stockton this year. Work obligations will be keeping me in Berkeley on Saturday.
