sheep? are you sure, it looks like a goat to me...poor thing!

I still need wellies and fbcms....anyone have eggs or chicks?

Oh oh oh

One of my pullets started laying yesterday!

I hope they all kick in soon, but I have 2 flocks of FBCMs, so I can let you know when they all start up again.

If you are still adding to your order, could you check on a blue, blue laced red, and silver laced? I would like to get two birds, but they say the blue may not be available on the website.

Anna in Fremont CA

If you're looking for FBCMs it looks like I'll be having some soon.

Yes. I am still interested in finding one or two pullets or chicks for my backyard flock.

My wellie is loud too lol....probably the loudest of the group and she is sort of demented....she talks to barking squirrles....LOUDLY ...LOUDEST egg song...very distinct voice I can tell the difference between her and the other girls sort of skittish but beautiful eggs....

Yeah. Pretty eggs but *bullies*. The two of them are ganging up on the rest of my girls! I was a little shocked to be honest. I'm not so sure about this. Does it get better? I've never tried to integrate full grown chickens before. I'm really unhappy with how they're acting. Should I stick them in a cage and hope they'll be less aggressive when they get out? or what?

Nope, separating them will only make things worse. It sounds like the pecking order is being rearranged, give it a few weeks and they will be best buddies.

Really? Promise?

I'm just being oversensitive I guess. Worried about my poor little Jane and my Stella. Jane is as big as Stella now, but I'm really worried about the two of them cuz they're the smallest chickens in the flock. Stella is so beautiful and we love her but she's always been a little shy. Poor Jane just lost her hatchmate Kate and I'm worried she's lonely. So having the two new girls, who are bigger than any of our old chickens, ganging up on the others is just hard to watch.

I have to admit to having gotten some satisfaction out of seeing two of my hens, Buffy and Willow, trap one of the bullies in their old coop and put her in her place.

Things seem to have settled down a bit, after that.

http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Laughing/lol-022.gif I love how they specify "hens eggs", what other kinds of eggs are there?!

Turkey, duck, emu, ostrich, geese? Are those called "hens" as well?

Yes, mostly. female Emus are actually just called female emus and males are called male emus.

Years ago a female goose was called a "goose". A male was called a gander but not these days. I feel like I'm really showing my age here.
What the poster was trying to clarify (or should have been clarifying), for purposes of selling an incubator, was whether they were talking about chicken eggs or quail eggs. Many advertisers state that their bators can hold up to ___ eggs but when you look in the fine print area you see that they were referring to quail eggs which are tiny and take up a lot less room. Kind of a legal way to mislead buyers. To say "hens" eggs is just plain silly!
