My wellie is loud too lol....probably the loudest of the group and she is sort of demented....she talks to barking squirrles....LOUDLY ...LOUDEST egg song...very distinct voice I can tell the difference between her and the other girls sort of skittish but beautiful eggs....
Yeah. Pretty eggs but *bullies*. The two of them are ganging up on the rest of my girls! I was a little shocked to be honest. I'm not so sure about this. Does it get better? I've never tried to integrate full grown chickens before. I'm really unhappy with how they're acting. Should I stick them in a cage and hope they'll be less aggressive when they get out? or what?
Jeepers! I was reading back and found this. Did you get the right birds??
Maybe they transformed in your trunk!
And then I read the part about flying! Wow. Come to think of it, my husband told me one flew over the fence during Christmas break when something startled the girls out in the orchard, but then she came back through a fence before DH went to get her. I totally forgot as I wasn't there. I would have thought they had gotten too big by now. They were bigger than my lead RIR hen and my EE!
But bullies??? These two were at the bottom of my pecking order, with the other hens being pretty easy on them. (you see how pretty they are--no pecked heads, etc!) I saw them peck at the chicks once or twice (normal) but mamahen kept a pretty close watch... Well, I hope it is just a part of their settling in, Anna.
