Bay Area BYCers!

Dawn, yesterday was only day one of candling here for me! I'm checking a couple more every night until Saturday, talk about excitement!!!

I just couldn't bring myself to pay $999 for a pair of chickens. Maybe for a flock, I mean I almost did buy a flock of Wheaten Marans for $350 but that was for 12 or so birds total and those birds were an excellent line. I'm honestly not too impressed with Greenfire's Jubilees. They do not seem to have the UK type that I just LOVE. That's okay though, importing birds seems to be something that could be attainable in the next couple of years, I'll just have to be patient...

What time will you be in Emeryville today Dawn?

It was just one of those days....and I had to work late and the kids I work with were just being difficult made me out to be the bad person.

Feeling overwhelmed with a lot of things right now.

Then my mother added her two cents worth and that was my breaking point lol.

Chickens always make you feel better! I know whenever I'm feeling down, or upset spending some time with my flock really calms my nerves. They're like puppies, they love you unconditionally... even more so if you provide them with yummy treats.

ETA: What variety of D'uccle eggs did you get Melina, Mille Fleur, Porcelin?

Yes I agree there...I go out with the girls or hug the roo...lol since he is fluffy.

I got

Gold Necked D'uccles
Black Mottled D'uccles
And of course Millie Fleur

Friendliest little rooster I've owned was my two Millie Fleurs. My son use to put them in the trunck of those little Coope cars and push them around the yard and they would just sit there it was funny!
