Thank you to all my new BYC friends! I just bought a Welsummer cockerel from Kelly, and a blue orpington cockerel and black Orpington pullet from Jeremy. Thanks! I'm also waiting for the weather to allow me to get my GLWs from Carrie. I've been looking for Frank Reese Barred Rocks, too. Thanks to another Jeremy I'll have those soon too. Clio you are sweet to ask, and thank you to so many others that have PM'd me. The demolition of the "effected" area is almost done. The new few days they are going to be testing all items, surfaces for anything toxic. We have found a house to rent so move-in day is Friday and we finally get to be with our dogs!!

The county says they will likely be done with all testing, cleaning, demolition in two weeks, then the construction begins. The bottom floor is pretty much taken down to the studs...

Our contractor thinks we MIGHT be back in our house at the end of May...

My Dad came home today and it was really scary, he developed a type of psychosis from being in the hospital so long. It is pretty common for people that have been in for weeks and on narcotics. He was completely out of it, mumbling, saying weird things...horrible, but tonight he seems a bit better, the drs are saying he should be back to normal

Wow! Cheryl, I just caught up with your situation. Sorry you are going through this. I had a similar situation back in 2006 with the sanitation district. Luckily, it was just my basement that filled with sewage. The sanitation district took full responsibility. I only had to move out for a couple of days while they disinfected everything (while wearing the yellow hazmat suits). They paid me for my property losses, but nothing else. I never contacted a lawyer. Another family down the road had the same thing happen just a few months later. They sued, and settled with Central San for a purported $100K. Explore your options. Just sayin.

The drugs actually "rewire" the brain. Happened to my Mom a few years ago but back then no one could tell us what was wrong so they put her in the psych ward! If we hadn't read an article in Discover magazine about this problem we would not have known what was happening! When we showed the docs the article, they finally agreed to get her off the meds she was on and in a few short weeks she was back to normal! Yes it was terrifying!!!

For her too, although now she says she doesn't remember any of it (a blessing I think).
