Bay Area BYCers!

My thoughts exactly! I'd love to have a nice Ameraucana roo so I can sell EE hatching eggs, but my parents refuse to let me get a cockerel

"Too noisy- the neighbors will complain. And they'll attack people." they say. Darn.

Attack people?!

I've only had RIR roos that were that mean! Yes they are noisy though. You can always get eggs and hatch them yourself though. Lots of us have beautiful fertile ameraucana and EE eggs.

Wow i've really missed BYC! I've emerged from the rubble...so to speak.

we move into our new rental home today and demolition continues on our home. It's down to the studs at this point. Probably June/July before we will be back to normal...whatever that is...

got the Buff Laced Brahmas yesterday in the mail, they are 4 months old and AMAZINGLY gorgeous, pics to come

If anyone knows of someone looking for a PURE coronation rooster I have an extra. Here he is, he's a stunner and HUGE

Yes, but my dad grew up on a farm in Minnesota and had a bunch of White Leghorns. The head rooster at one time was called the Teaberry Shuffle because he would dance then attack them. Now Dad hates roosters, even though I tell him that they can be nice and that I don't want a huge one.

Oh! I've never had leghorn roos. We had leghorns when I was a kid but they got turned into dumplings as soon as they crowed.

Your poor Dad. I can just picture him as a little tyke being traumatized by that mean roo! I wouldn't have a mean roo around. If they show agression at all they get whooped and if they have the nerve to try it twice they're gone.

When you get your own place you can have roos. For now give your poor Dad some empathy for all the trauma that mean roo put him through when he was little.

I would love that coronation roo of Cheryl's if I had room! He is gorgeous!
