Hey - you want some of Bubba's girls eggs? I have Barred Rocks or EEs - light green, bright green, or Olive. I have some of the light green and olive in the bater now on lockdown, with one hatched. Bubba is a Daddy! I will post a photo or two tomorrow - the thing is just too ugly right now.

Hi Andrea! Congratulations to you and Bubba! I'm looking forward to the pics. All new babies are ugly for a day or so.

I would love some of Bubba's wives' eggs.

I just sent off and email for hatching eggs in Sonoma County, so I don't need too many, but would have fun with some anyway.

whattheflock will be up in Sonoma County tomorrow, coming back to Martinez Tuesday afternoon. He might be able to swing by for some. Otherwise, I could probably come up Tuesday afternoon.

I'd hate to wait any longer than that. My little Barnevelder is just wasting energy sitting on that golf ball. Sending a PM your way...

Ooh, that reminds me...Sunny, thanks so much for the offer. But, I'm trying to get eggs before next weekend so that the broody girl doesn't exhaust herself working hard on nothing. She's already been sitting for about 3 days.

No problem. Looks like you have plenty of offers now to choose from. One of my Barnies keeps going broody too! She just won't give up and she is fierce about it too!

Hi Steph,

I can also get you some eggs - regular or banty - from my friend's chickens .. the banty eggs might even be frizzle ones! If you need them Mon - Tues - Wed that's possible. You're not that far away from me ...

Hi Daphne,
Thanks for the offer, but Dyann already offered banty eggs. I'm not sure what I would do with banties, so I didn't take her up on the offer either. I wish I had the space to have lots of chickens, but since I can't, I'd better stick to ones who give me the most volume for the count.

Steph,

If you need regular eggs (not banty) my friend always has fertile ones (or at least I hope they're fertile) ... any plans for the other part of the email I wrote about?

OK so I posted this elsewhere, but I found an egg in the bator last night that had 3/19 on it. I somehow missed it at lockdown. Never did that before. Anyway I was almost to the hatcher when I heard a peep and then saw a very tiny pip. This was the only egg I had from my Davis pen when they first started to lay. I woke up to another fluffy butt, so 12 including 8 blue AMs. They're all so cute.

OK, I just read the whole thread.

I feel so bad for your poor little chickies and you! I would definitely get a pump pellet gun. You can pump it up a little or a lot and I am sure they sell locks for them to keep your DGD safe. Good luck!
