We met Jeremy this afternoon to pick up our Olive Egger chicks and another one of his Blue Wheaten chicks. Thank you so much, Jeremy! We just got home and put the new four into the brooder with the older five chicks (2 silver ameraucanas, 1 blue wheaten ameraucana, 1 blue langshan, and 1 giant buff brahma). The older chicks are scared of the little ones! They are huddled in the corner as far away from the little ones as possible. I put a half pot into the brooder under the light so the little ones could get away from the hooligans. Two of the OE's are fast asleep under the pot and the new BW is asleep in front of the pot. But the 3rd OE is going after the older chicks. He is jumping/flying and landing on their backs, pushing his way into the middle of them to get food, and chest butting them including the giant brahma. It is hysterical! I think that we might have a little roo!!!
Oh my gosh!! I've been glued to my bator. I have one baby hatched, and seven pips! The one that hatched looks like a BCM, or whatever it is that Jeremy hatched for Debi. It's peeping and lonely, but I suspect that soon it will have a buddy. One is starting to zip, and I can see it moving through the ever-widening hole!!

Cheryl, I had problems with aging sewers, which caused the spill at my house. The district also mentioned that backflow device, even though one had been installed here. (You know...the metal mushroom cap thingy. But, the spill still happened.) The district took a long time resolving the problem. My neighbor is the retired DA, and he watched the situation with CCCSan here. He told them, "If it ever happens to her (me) again, I can assure you, she will contact an attorney." Then, he told me he knew just the attorney. I will have to check with him to see if this might be useful in your situation.
Really glad to see the birds settling in at the barn!! And, you definitely did as much work as we did. It was a serious team effort over there!

we interviewed 4 attorneys so far, 2 really seem to know this problem, but I'd love to get your DA's info!!

Cheryl,
My husband's Masonic "brother" who is in commercial real estate knows an attorney that deals with construction ... will ask him this Thursday when I see him at dinner...and let you know.
